For more than thirty years, our family has opened the doors of Portobello to Oakland families and friends for every kind of milestone. Since 1992, we have hosted birthdays, anniversaries, sweet sixteens, quinceañeras, showers, mitzvahs, and everything in between. What started as one address on Ramapo Valley Road has grown into two connected spaces, Portobello Banquets and Portobello Feasts Restaurant, both built around the same idea. Good food, warm service, and rooms that actually fit the celebration.

Every celebration has its own size and shape, and that is exactly why we built Portobello the way we did. Two properties, several rooms, and menus that flex from an intimate lunch to a two-hundred-guest sweet sixteen.
Rooms sized to match your guest list
At Portobello Banquets, our rooms range from the Annex Room, which comfortably seats fifty to seventy guests, up to the Dome Room, which holds seventy to one hundred twenty. Combine the Dome and Annex together, and you have room for up to two hundred fifty guests under one roof. The Front Room accommodates fifty to sixty guests, while the Back Room accommodates fifty to seventy, and the Main Floor spreads out for parties of seventy to one hundred thirty. All told, the banquet hall accommodates parties from fifty to two hundred fifty people, so a sweet sixteen and a corporate seminar can both find a room that fits without feeling empty or crowded.

Just down the road at 175 Ramapo Valley Road sits Portobello Feasts Restaurant, our sister property. Where the banquet hall is built for larger parties with a fifty-adult minimum, Feasts opens its doors to smaller groups. The Cucina room seats up to one hundred twenty guests, and its Cucina Package requires a minimum of thirty adults, while the Sala and Family Style packages start at a minimum of twenty adults. Between the two properties, we can host an intimate luncheon for twenty or a full sweet sixteen for two hundred.

Our menus lean on fine Italian and modern American cooking, the kind of food our chefs have been perfecting since 1992. Guests can expect pasta stations, carved meats and fresh fish alongside classics like chicken francese and veal marsala. Every banquet package includes a special occasion cake, sheet cake or Italian pastries, with fillings like cannoli, chocolate mousse and vanilla custard among the choices.

Every table at Portobello Banquets starts with a fitted, floor-length ivory tablecloth and matching napkin, already part of every banquet package. Guests sit in gold Chiavari chairs with a white seat, a small detail that dresses up a room without any extra planning on your end. Planning your visit
We keep appointment hours simple, Monday through Sunday from noon to six thirty in the evening, with late appointments available if you ask.
